View a Shared Mailbox in Outlook on the Web

To view a shared mailbox in "Outlook on the Web" (website version of Outlook), please follow these instructions:

  • Log into the Office365 Outlook website with your email address.  You can access by visiting any of these links.  They all go to the same place, so you can click any of them even if your email address is not from that domain:
  • Once logged in to your account and viewing your own Outlook inbox, then click your name in the top right corner.

  • Click "Open another mailbox" link in the menu options.

  • In the box that opens, type in the email address that you have been given access to, and click "open".
    • Note that as you type, the system will search for any addresses within the "company contact list" that contain that name or email in it.
    • Such as if you type "support" it will bring up some of the common "support" emails that have been added to the company contact list.

  • Once the correct email address has been typed or selected, then click "Open" button.  A new window or tab will open to that email's inbox, just as if you had logged in as that person directly.

  • ALTERNATIVELY: you can go directly to that inbox by typing the following URL into your browser:

Where "<email_address>" is the email address you want to access, that you have been given permission to access.
